New Non-profit Bridges the Mental Health Care Access Gap
The Powerful Project, 501(c)(3) provides funding and access to mental health for families and individuals.
Atlanta, Georgia: The Powerful Project today announced the opening of the 2021 Powerful Project Mental Health Scholarship Application, a new program to provide mental health services to those otherwise unable to afford or access the care that needed.
The Powerful Project is based on the premise that there is a gap in the access to mental health care. That gap is between individuals that may be able to afford services either out-of-pocket or through insurance, and those that may qualify for government subsidies or assistance. In the middle are those individuals who may not have adequate or reliable insurance coverage or do not currently have the financial resources available to pay for therapeutic services for themselves or their children.
“The past year has taken an extraordinary toll on the mental health of families and children in our community and beyond. Finding compassionate, affordable, and qualified help is not an easy task, and this is where we hope to make a difference,” says Lauren Foster, CEO at The Powerful Project. “Proactive and early interventions not only change the life of the individual receiving care but make a lasting positive change in the world.”
The 2021 Powerful Project Mental Health Scholarship Application will be available online starting January 4, 2021. Interested parties may find more information at https://www.powerfulproject.org/.
